Book Review: Ora and The Old God

Author: Sarah Day
Published: Expected on 25 October 2020
Genres: Young Adult Fiction, Fantasy

Wild and stubborn, Ora Widogast is determined to join her brother for the annual Tabas hunt. When he makes a terrible mistake, her brother is turned into a pig, and she is taken captive in the fae realm. There, the fae queen placed her under the watchful eye of a cruel and powerful mage, Tyg Marigen, who despises humans.

The storyline was wonderful but I believe that it could have a bit more character development. The book is really short for a fantasy book, maybe the second book will be a bit longer.

On Ora’s 17th birthday, her brother takes her on the Tabas Hunt. During the hunt they run into trouble. Ora is taken captive. During her captivity, she learns all about the differences in magic within the fae realm. She makes a dangerous discovery, something that no human has done before. She must find a way to save her brother and find her way back home before her secret is revealed.

There’s a bit of a problem when it comes to her age. It was confusing at the beginning it states that she is 17 but when you continue reading it seems like she is younger. I kinda forgot about her age until it’s brought up again.

Overall the book was great. I can’t wait for the second book, hopefully there will be some questions answered to our unasked questions. I recommend it if you’re looking for something fresh and out of the world.
